Chemex

Chemex

Posted by Café Balade on

The beauty of Chemex is definitely the delicacy of the resulting infusion.

To perceive each of the subtle notes in your Balade coffee, the Chemex is a great brewing method. It's the perfect way to take time to relax and enjoy the present moment, alone or with friends.

How to brew your Balade coffee
with a chemex
:

  1. Bring 600ml of water to a boil
  2. Place a paper or metal filter (reusable) on your Chemex. If you're using a paper filter, be sure to rinse it out with a bit of water before putting it in the Chemex.
  3. Measure 40 grams of Balade coffee (about 5 tablespoons) and place it in the filter.
  4. Pre-infusion of coffee: add enough water to cover the coffee, no more (about twice its weight, or 80 grams).
  5. Start the timer as soon as you add the 80 grams of water.
  6. Slowly pour hot water in circular motions to cover the entire surface of the coffee. Make sure that no crust forms and that the color of the coffee is uniform.
  7. Continue this process for 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
  8. Then pour the rest of the water over the coffee.
  9. Let gravity do its thing (and take a video or two to share in your stories, it's such a calming sight to watch)! ☺️
  10. Enjoy your Balade coffee with all the joy in the world! 🌻
