Brewing coffee using a French press is definitely one of my favorites.
The French press method is perfect for extracting coffee that retains maximum aromas, body, and even oils! It's an easy and accessible brewing method, while also being a pleasant and calming ritual to connect with your coffee.
Pro tip: add a French press to your camping starter pack . Bye bye instant coffee, hello morning walks on the waterfront! ☕️ 🌲 🌊
How to brew your Balade coffee with a French press :
- Boil 500ml of water.
- Add 30 to 40 g of Balade coffee to the bottom of your French press.
- Pour the hot water into the French press and leave to infuse for 3 minutes without putting the lid on.
- Use a spoon to "break the crust" of your coffee by gently mixing the surface, without going to the bottom of the coffee maker. This step allows the grains to be loosened and the sediment to sink to the bottom.
- Wait another 5 to 8 minutes (I suggest 7 minutes) to allow the fine coffee grounds to fully settle at the bottom of the coffee maker. Take the opportunity to read 2-3 pages of your book while your coffee brews perfectly! This pause is essential for optimal extraction (and to capture all the aromas of your coffee!).
- Gently lower the plunger of the French Press, letting the weight of your hand guide its descent. Stop when the plunger reaches the coffee.
- Enjoy your delicious Balade coffee and savor the moment!
Note from Emilie 🌸: Feel free to adjust the amount of coffee and brewing time according to your personal preferences. Take the time to relax and enjoy every sip of this delicious Balade coffee!
